Britney Spears joins judges on US X Factor

Simon Cowell has confirmed that Britney Spears will join the judging panel on the US version of the 'X Factor', by announcing the news on Twitter.
Cowell said that Spears, 30, the world's biggest pop phenomenon of the 2000s, will join him on 'X Factor', which searches for a new pop star from tens of thousands of ordinary Americans.
Minutes after sending out the tweet, Spears joined Cowell and the two other judges in a presentation in New York, the Telegraph reported.

Spears will be joined by singer and actress Demi Lovato, 19, to fill the judge's seats left by Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger, who were both fired by Cowell after a disappointing first season in 2011.
Cowell announced the news on Twitter, sending a photo of himself with record producer Antonio "L.A." Reid, Spears and Lovato and saying "Can't believe it's finally happening. Very exciting!"
Fox have not revealed details of their contracts but Spears has been widely reported to be getting 15 million dollars a year for the 'X Factor' gig, which would make her one of the highest-paid TV reality show judges. (ANI)
